Loudr Alarm
Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 October 2026
Loudr Alarm is an alarm clock that makes you complete a task before the alarm stops. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what it never does.
The short version. There are no accounts. Your alarms, your pet and your streaks live on your phone. We collect anonymous usage analytics to see where people get stuck. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
What stays on your device
The following never leaves your phone. It is stored locally and is removed when you delete the app:
- Your alarms — times, repeat days, labels, chosen tone and mission.
- Your pet — its name, species, stage, XP, vitality and streak.
- Reference photos you take for the Photo Match mission.
- App settings such as default loudness and onboarding progress.
What we collect
Product analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used — for example whether a mission was completed, how long it took, and where people drop out of onboarding. Events are tied to a randomly generated identifier, not to your name, email or Apple Account.
Session replay. PostHog records how you move through the app so we can diagnose problems. All text inputs and all images are masked before recording — alarm labels, pet names and camera content are not readable to us.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, we capture the crash so we can fix it. A crash while an alarm is ringing is a serious failure and we want to know about it.
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. We never see your card details — Apple does not share them with us.
Permissions, and why
- Notifications — required. This is how an alarm reaches you when the app isn't open. Without it, Loudr cannot function.
- Motion & Fitness — counts steps for the Walk Steps mission; the Shake and Push-Up missions read the phone's motion and proximity sensors. Readings are used in the moment and are not uploaded.
- Camera — used by the Photo Match and Squat Reps missions. Frames are processed on your device. Photo Match reference images are saved locally on your phone; nothing is uploaded.
- Microphone & Speech Recognition — used only during the Say It Out Loud mission, to check you repeated the phrase. Recognition is performed by Apple's speech framework, which, depending on your device and installed language assets, may process the audio on your device or on Apple's servers. That processing is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not store recordings.
Every permission is optional except notifications. Declining one only disables the missions that need it.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your personal information.
- Track you across other apps or websites. There is no advertising identifier, no ad SDK, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt because we have nothing to ask for.
- Upload your photos, audio recordings or contacts.
- Ask you to create an account.
Who else is involved
- Apple — payments, and speech recognition as described above.
- RevenueCat — subscription status.
- PostHog — product analytics, crash reports and session replay. Data is held on PostHog's US infrastructure.
How long we keep it
Analytics events are retained for as long as they are useful for improving the app and are deleted on a rolling basis. On-device data lives on your phone until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the data we hold, and to object to certain processing. Since we have no accounts, the fastest way to erase everything on your device is to delete the app. For analytics data, email us and we will delete the records associated with your device identifier.
If you are in the EU or UK, our lawful basis for analytics is legitimate interest in improving the app; for purchases it is performance of a contract.
California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information is collected and for what purpose, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. In the last twelve months we collected the categories described above — identifiers (an anonymous analytics id), commercial information (subscription status), and internet or other electronic network activity (in-app usage) — for analytics and app functionality. We have not sold or shared personal information, as those terms are defined by the CPRA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email us.
Children
Loudr Alarm is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
